Hindu : 28 Mar - Editorial : Highs and Lows of Indian Cricket team

So finally India avenged its humiliation of a terrible loss to Australia last year with a clean sweep this year. Yet somehow this article suggests that it has become a tradition for Indian cricket team to either raise to the glory for being world champions or perish to the ground with consecutive losses. though it seems a bit satirical that our cricket team lacks consistency, Author from this article infers that the team had performed in the worst of the time under favourable conditions after a 2-1 loss in foreign soil where cricket was first born.

Authors brings out valid points on how our cricket lteam had surpassed the losses and in an aggressive mode triumped with a white wash. And a commendable innings from skipper Dhoni in the first test was the right dose of adrenalin rushed in at the right moment which also phsycologically effected australian cricketers all through the series. Author also reminds his readers on high risks which the selectors had to take such as dropping out Gautham Gambhir and sacking Sehwag after first two tests. Though its extremely delightful to see the local talents rising to the occassion such as the left handed shikar dhawan and opener Murali Vijay along with spinner Ohja and a surprise all rounder Ravindra Jadeja, Authors really wants to see how these would perform on bouncy pitches of foreign lands which is due 8 months from now in New Zealand.

The happy tone of the author challenges the Cricket team to maintain consistency inspite of an 8 mont break from test cricket for which he sarcastically thanked BCCI for such a schedule. Also he expects our team to showcase best sportmanship by not succumbing into pressure and surely perform as a whole but not relying on single or dial star talent.
