When democracy is restricted to a piece of paper and violence becomes the speech in an election campaign, one seems to lose hope in fair and safe elections. This is exactly whats happening in Pakistan as Tehreek e Taliban had been constantly attacking almost all political parties who were busy in the upcoming elections. From suicide bombing to targeted killings, Pakistan is under constant threat from Talibans especially the parties in the ruling government who had become immediate victims of terrorism because of their inefficient reforms and most importantly for being supportive to the west. This article gives the list of all the politicians from political parties who have been attacked by TTP. Though two parties Pakistan Muslim League and Tehreek-e-Insaaf were portrayed to be Taliban friendly, a recent attack on one of the political meetings of PML had seeped deep in similar fear even in supportive parties.
Article explains on how such involvement of violence can uproot the foundation of democracy and put the whole country in danger. No political party condemned these attacks as they would know that such provocation will worsen their current situation. And those who aren't attacked are taking the advantage of this silence and continuing their campaign to form government by winning the next elections. But the only concern even if a party with the help of extended support from terrorist, win an election by all means, will it be ok if terrorists start ruling the country, turning the so called Pakistan in to a mini Afghanistan.
